“Life and Nothing More” is one of last years most essential films. A powerful and potent look at race, class and family in contemporary America.
A single mother, working at a diner, struggles to fend for her two children. In northern Florida, specifically set in and around the Tallahassee area, where the crime rate is highest in the state. This is where juveniles from single-parent homes are easily derailed from fulfilling their potential, much like the mothers son, Andrew. When Andrew has another brush with the law at only 14, his mother begins to worry he'll end up like his father, in the county jail.
