About the book:
A surprise visitor can really disrupt the lives of a family of tenant farmers, a fatherless boy, and a circle of 10-year-old girls. In this sequel to Dahlia in Bloom, the Harrell family is visited by Mommy’s brother, Ennis Cain. Banjo in hand, the self-proclaimed traveling troubadour offers music and hope to Lothian Mill and lifts Dahlia’s brother Charlie from illness and despair. But when things go missing from the general store, Uncle Ennis becomes the prime suspect, and the music, hope, and healing begin to slip away. Charlie’s Song, set in 1935 rural North Carolina, is a heartwarming story about family, friendship, and the transformative power of forgiveness.
“Charlie’s Song”, an original composition by Susan Koehler and Heath Fowler, will be performed live at the book launch and will be made available on multiple streaming outlets.
