Climb aboard the Number 5 bus with young CJ and his veritable, force-of-nature Nana as they travel through Nana’s urban Chicago neighborhood in this hip-hoppin’ musical joy ride based off the children’s book of the same name.
When his parents leave him with his Nana for a four day visit, CJ is challenged with new experiences unlike those at home. Meeting unlikely friends and seeing the world through a different lens, CJ learns aout the boisterous world that exists outside his bubble.Based on the book by Matt de la Peña and Chrisitan Robinson, West's adaptation pulls the hoppin' music of Lamon Dozier and Paris Dozier into a moving musical.
