Conlin graduated from nursing school and obtained a degree in education from State University of New York at Buffalo. She has published over sixty articles, children’s stories, textbook chapters, and humorous pieces. She has had four romantic suspense novels published as well as two children’s books. Currently she writes articles about her crazy alter ego and about her cat for her local newspaper, The Herald.
In The Secret of Seacoast Island, Desiree, a romantic suspense writer, is jilted by handsome doctor and most eligible bachelor, Mark. She accepts a job housesitting on a one residence island, hoping to recover emotionally and to finish her latest novel. A terrible storm ensues on the very first night she and her dog spend there, leaving them alone in a strange place in the dark. The next morning, Desiree is shocked to find a man’s body outside in the bushes with a neat bullet hole in his head. Terrified she barricades herself inside the house and calls 911. When the Coastguard and police arrive, there is no body to be found and they are very skeptical of her story. This immediately sets her in an adversarial role with police officer, Blake that is sometimes quite comical. Unraveling the mystery and sorting out what kind of feelings Officer Blake and others have for her is a fun, exciting and suspenseful romp from beginning to end.
