The Maclay Art Department is hosting a Hot Glass Academy Oct. 4-6th. In celebration of STEAM, all demonstrations will highlight multiple curriculum's between various age groups by working with a fluid molten material. Click here for the flier. Glass Pumpkin Patch Preview Party
October 4th 5 - 8pm
Glass Pumpkin preview party will include all visiting glass artists’ work.
We will have many tiers of Pumpkins in price and scale. Ranging from $30.00 to $200.00 per
pumpkin. All hand blown and sculpted by Southeastern area artists. 50% to artist 50% to Maclay School.

Glassblowing Demonstrations and Workshops
Each demonstration begins with a quick narrated explanation of the material process. Students will have the opportunity to ask questions throughout the demonstration.
There will be glassblowers creating their works of art at 2100ºF.

-Glassblowing Techniques that turn Chemistry into Art
-Glassblowers use water, air and wood to create their works of art. See it done!
DEMO 4
2:00 - 2:30 p.m.
- Art Meets Function: Glassblowing a Scientific Flask
- Watch how a work of art is created for the science lab.
Blown Ornament Workshop
$56.00 per student
Maximum of 18 students per day, 6 person group glassblowing instruction. No experience necessary. Ages 8 & up
Thursday 2:30pm - 4:20pm
Friday & Saturday workshops from 10:00am - 11:50am & 12:45pm - 2:35 pm and
2:45pm - 4:35pm
For any reason workshops do not fill the time intended for workshops will be used
for demonstrations.
*Artwork being made will be available for pick-up the following day.
