Misty Penton, a traditional story teller of the Eknv Hvtke Tvlwv (White Earth Tribal Town) and Muscogee Nation of Florida, will share The Great Ballgame: A Muskogee Story Retold by Joseph Bruchac and illustrated by Susan Roth.
Following this story, she will discuss Muscogee culture and how the Ballgame manages conflict both within a tribal community and between tribal communities. Story telling is a traditional form of knowledge sharing. Ms. Penton will use her experiences as a native person, archaeologist, and educator to highlight this important Florida community.
