The FSU Center for Music of the Americas is delighted to present the World Music First Thursdays concert series with Blue Tavern.
We're honored to host Dr. Haiqiong Deng, virtuoso performer on the Chinese 21-string guzheng and 7-string guqin, two plucked zithers with more than 2500-year-old history throughout Asia in April. Dr. Deng (an alumna of FSU's graduate program in Ethnomusicology and a Florida Folklife Master Artist) will be joined by bassist David Cobb, pianist Dr. Yue Sun, and tabla player Adrienne Ruhl to present a program of traditional and modern Chinese classical and folk music - as well as world premieres ... view more »

As always, cover charge is a nominal $5, and Blue Tavern will be serving its justifiably renowned filé gumbo, red beans and rice, sandwiches (including vegetarian and vegan options) and a variety of beer, wine, coffee, tea, and soft drinks. Hope to see you there!
