Guest Artist Series: Carol C. Spaulding

The Gallery@High Cotton is proud to present the work of Michigan based contemporary artist, Carol C Spaulding.

Carol C Spaulding grew up in Kalamazoo, MI and earned her BFA from Syracuse University School of Art. She continued her career by exploring various subject matter and mediums including oil, gouache, acrylic, wood, fiber and collage mixed materials. Her popular “Messing Around with Paint” classes at her studio in Leelanau County, offer creative art making experiences to beginning and seasoned artists alike. She believes that experimentation, working in series and maintaining an initial non-judgmental attitude toward one’s work is the basis of a productive and enthusiastic art making practice.

Carol works and teaches out of her self named Studio and Gallery in Maple City, MI. Her work may also be seen at Higher Art Gallery, Traverse City, MI, and Arbor Gallery, Glen Arbor, MI.

This exhibition will pair with the artworks of gallery artist/owners Jenny Odom and Beth Appleton and is set to open Wednesday, March. 13th and continue through Sunday, March 31st. Carol will be showing a variety of her work which will be available for sale and to view during regular gallery hours, Wed.-Sat. 10 am-5 pm. and Sunday: noon-5 pm. The exhibition is free to the public. You are invited!

There will be a reception on Friday, March 22 from 5-7 p.m. with light refreshments. Come by and meet the artist!
