Join the Riley Museum in a discussion about African before the slave trade, the economy of slavery and the history of the middle passage. The lecture will be led by nationally recognized historian and author, Velma Maia Thomas.
Velma Maia Thomas is a public historian and the author of several nonfiction books including the award-winning interactive Lest We Forget: The Passage from Africa to Slavery and Emancipation, (Random House, 1997) now a collector's item.
