Free Cuban Music & Dance Workshop

Join us for a FREE WORKSHOP from 4:30-6:00 pm by Cuban tres guitar virtuoso Renesito Avich! Featured as the 2018 Folklife Artist-in-Residence, Avich will bring to life various styles of music from Santiago de Cuba.

Don’t miss this free music and dance workshop featuring Renesito Avich! Considered a virtuoso of the Cuban tres guitar, Avich has mastered the son, or traditional folk music of Cuba, and continues to explore the related styles of nengón, changüí, and kiriva in original compositions.

Renesito Avich, a winner of several national competitions, hails from the culturally rich Santiago de Cuba where he began singing and playing the Cuban tres guitar at 14. As a teenager, Avich performed with some

PARKING INFO

General parking is available in the St. Augustine Garage located on the corner of Pensacola and Copeland Streets, and the Call Street Garage located on corner of Call and Macomb Streets. Accessible parking is available at the North Entrance of Ruby Diamond Concert Hall and along Convocation Way. The accessible entrance drop-off area is located at the north entrance of Ruby Diamond (the roundabout) and may be accessed by Convocation Way. Elevators are available to take patrons to the appropriate floor. Ushers will help direct patrons to the elevators.
