The Irish celebration of Bloomsday highlights James Joyce’s Ulysses, sing Irish songs, thrill to Irish Step Dancers, learn more from Joyce scholars, and enjoy a time-warping love story between an Irish lass and an American tourist.
On June 16, 1954, the 50th anniversary of the Joyce's Ulysses, a group of Dubliners decided to follow the path of the character Leopold Bloom in the novel. They only made it through a couple of pubs before they were significantly inebriated and started fighting with each other. But it became a tradition in Dublin that has spread across the globe.
