Film at Young Actors Theatre

6th-12th grade – Tuesdays, 6:45-7:45pmInstructor: Sam Sachs​Sam Sachs is a Young Actors Theatre (c/o 2001) alum and a 2007 graduate of the University of Miami film school. Sachs spent five years pursuing a career in entertainment in Los Angeles, where she gained experience as a development intern, a literary assistant and worked on a network television sitcom.

This year, the YAT film class will take a close look at modern cinema, studying several motion pictures and focusing on aspects such as setting, characterization and major plot points. Students will learn about The Hero’s Journey and how it applies to some of their favorite films. Each student will have the opportunity to write and shoot their own scenes based on the screenplay format learned in class.
