Creating Compelling Characters

Whether you’ve written a novel, or are just putting pen to page, this workshop will increase your character development skills. Learn how to create layered, authentic characters; understand the role of character arcs; and recognize which characters are needed and which can be cut.

Compelling Characters, the first in this fall’s Embrace the Red Pen writing workshop series, will be presented by editor and writing coach Heather Whitaker. Heather has worked with writers across the spectrum, from budding novelists to award-winning and best-selling authors. She speaks at conferences, leads writers groups, and teaches writing classes for OLLI at FSU.
