Contra Dance feat. Joey Norton & Greasy String Band

Join us Friday, April 28th for a fun community contra dance! Joey Norton will be joining us from St. Pete to call the dances and Tallahassee’s own Greasy String Band will be playing live tunes.

Tallahassee community contra dances have resumed in the Senior Center Ballroom on the 2nd and 4th Fridays of each month! Contra dancing is an upbeat, beginner-friendly American folk dance for all ages. It shares many moves with square dancing (such as swing your partner and do-si-do) and is danced in long lines to live music. The bands and callers vary each night. Come alone or bring friends–no partner or experience required. Those new to contra dancing are strongly encouraged to come by 7:15
