Join us for the grand opening of the new temporary exhibit Changing America: The Emancipation Proclamation, 1863 and the March on Washington, 1963.

Changing America is presented by the Smithsonian’s National Museum of African American History and Culture and the National Museum of American History in collaboration with the American Library Association Public Programs Office.

To celebrate the opening, guests are invited to join in an evening “History Hop” to explore the pivotal national events surrounding the Emancipation Proclamation and the March on Washington and travel to historic locations to hear some of Tallahassee’s unique ... view more »

PARKING INFO

The Historic Capitol is located in the Capitol Complex, at the intersection of Apalachee Parkway and South Monroe Street. Although the museum does not have dedicated parking, there are several parking lots in the area. There is a large public parking garage in Kleman Plaza, close to the Capitol Complex. When the legislature is in session, parking can be especially challenging. Spaces for visitors with disabilities are located on west side of the House Office Building in the north side loading zone.
