Come join us for the reception and awards ceremony of our “Brush Strokes” exhibition at the City Hall Gallery on September 28 from 6-8pm. The Tallahassee Watercolor Society, in partnership with the Council on Culture & Arts, is holding the annual Brush Strokes Member’s Exhibition at City Hall in Tallahassee, Florida, from September 26 through December 4, 2023. Brush Strokes features the work of over 30 local artists, all living within a 100-mile radius of Tallahassee, Florida. All participating artists are members of the Tallahassee Watercolor Society and active members of the Tallahassee arts community as a whole. Artworks range in subject matter from portraits, to landscapes, to animals, and more – all using the timeless medium of watercolor paints.
The Brush Strokes juror this year is Amanda Karioth Thompson, an independent arts consultant and founder of AKT Artful. She has 20 years of experience in arts administration and as a practicing artist. She is a well-respected and knowledgeable advisor, collaborator and interpreter. Born and raised in Tallahassee, Amanda attended Florida State University and earned two bachelor’s degrees in Studio Art and Art Education, and a master’s degree in Art Education. Amanda is responsible for jurying the Brush Strokes entries as well as the exhibition awards.
