Blood at The Root - by Dominique Morisseau

Presented by FAMU Essential Theatre at Charles Winter Wood Theatre, Tallahassee FL

Feb 13 - 17 2019
Blood at The Root - by Dominique Morisseau

This bold new play examines the miscarriage of justice, racial double standards and the crises in gender and class.

Raylynn, a young Black high school senior, finally wants to make her mark in her integrated school--even if she has to break some rules to do it. Drawing inspiration from the racially divisive case of the Jena Six in Louisiana, Morisseau's highly charged drama challenges racial inequity and champions the demand for social justice.

Contains profanity.  Recommended for ages 13 and older.
