Mary Sterner Lawson’s sketches capture people’s demeanor, expressions, and ways of passing time in the familiar-to-us-all environment of the waiting room.
Countless times we’ve been stuck waiting, whether in a doctor’s office, auto repair garage, coffee shop, auditorium, conference, or hospital. Lawson captures the essence of the art of patiently waiting, of marking time, whether on a smart phone, immersed in a magazine or book, staring into space, or dozing in a chair. ADMISSION INFO
The exhibit is open to the public during library hours, and is in two glass cases on the second floor of the Leroy Collins Leon County Public Library at 200 W. Park Avenue, Tallahassee Library. The library is open from 10:00 AM - 9 PM Monday through Thursday, 10-6 on Friday, 10-5 on Saturday, and 1-6 on Sunday.
