April My Favorite Books Signing for Local Authors

Darlyn Finch Kuhn will have her novel “Sewing Holes” at My Favorite Books on Saturday, April 23 for our Local Author Book Signing.  Our very own Kathleen Kelly (Amanda) read and rated the book Five Stars.  ‘“Sewing Holes” is a true Southern tale without lacking any collard greens or “bless her hearts”. Kuhn writes in a direct, straightforward voice that draws the reader into her deeper underlying philosophical tone… If you like a good Southern story, you’re going to like “Sewing Holes.”’  In addition to her novel and two poetry collections (Red Wax Rose and Three Houses) Darlyn Finch Kuhn’s work has appeared in literary journals, newspapers, magazines and online.

Joining her will be Pat Spears with her debut novel “Dream Chaser”.  Again, Amanda rated the book Five Stars.  “Pat Spears writes a damn good story in her novel “Dream Chaser”… Spears creates a realistic hero who teaches the reader that even if everything falls apart at once, all that’s needed is a little strong glue.”  Ms. Spears short stories have appeared in numerous journals.  Her short story “Stranger At My Door” received honorable mention in the 2013 Lorian Hemingway Short Story competition and “Whelping” was a finalist for the Rash Award.  In 2009 she was nominated for a United States Artists grant.
