"Due Artisti" at The Sound Bar

“Due Artisti” (pronounced “DOO-ay ar-TEE-stee”) is a duo whose repertoire of classic/alternative rock favorites and “sultry” originals has delighted audiences in Tallahassee and the coastal Big Bend since the couple began their musical adventures in 2018.  Michael Schad’s virtuoso electric guitar lead and Celia R. Caputi’s lead vocals, rhythm guitar, and spoken word performances are fleshed out by a state-of-the-art digital backup band (“Ralph”) to infectiously danceable effect.  The couple has played at The Riverside Cafe and The Shack in St. Marks as well as numerous festivals, private parties, and open mics in Tallahassee and Crawfordville; they also regularly perform at The Palaver Tree Theater in Crawfordville, where they helped initiate an ongoing series of benefit concerts and festivals featuring local musicians.  Nick-named “The Sonny & Cher of Shell Point” as a result of their frequent participation in their neighborhood’s private “beach jams,” this couple (who, despite the moniker, do not cover Sonny & Cher) enjoy leaving their own thumbprint on the classics they cover through creative musical re-interpretation and occasional interjection of spoken word poetry.   Their “Shakespearean” version of Cream’s “Sunshine of Your Love” is a particular crowd-pleaser.
