The GFWC Tallahassee Junior Woman’s Club (TJWC) presents our 5th Annual Spring into Art Show and Fundraiser. Over 20 local artists will be participating, displaying and selling their works, which includes wood work, glass work, mosaic, jewelry, paintings and much more. Non-profits participating this year include Arts4All artists, A Bag for HOPE and the Tallahassee Chapter of Sleep in Heavenly Peace (SHP). Some returning artists include Mershell Sherman (woodwork/acrylic), Robin Holt/MoonDog Glass (glass beads), Kim Campbell/Haute Art (fused glass/polymer clay) and Jim Russell (oil/acrylic painting). Several new artists will be joining us adding new art mediums to explore. A silent auction will be ongoing during the event. The event will be held at the Woman’s Club of Tallahassee, in the Los Robles neighborhood, providing plenty of parking. A food truck will be on-site offering lunch, drinks or snacks while you explore the art and the garden.
TJWC is a civic organization that supports community programs through volunteering or funding. Proceeds from this event will benefit several of those groups including Leon County Schools’ Shoe Club, Kids’, Inc., Sleep in Heavenly Peace, Tallahassee Museum to name a few. In lieu of admission, donations are requested of new twin-size youth bedding (sheets, comforters, pillows) for Sleep in Heavenly Peace; new youth socks for the Leon County Schools’ Shoe Club and/or new or gently used youth books for the Kids, Inc., Tiny Libraries. Sleep in Heavenly Peace will have one of their volunteer-built beds on display as well as information on their volunteer organization that not only builds but delivers beds to local families in need so “no kid sleep on the floor in our town”.
