Pyramid Studios in Tallahassee is seeking a Visual Arts Coordinator to work with adults with developmental disabilities. This is a supervisory position that also allows you to use your creative and artistic skills for very rewarding outcomes with our students.

Qualification Requirements

  • Related four-year degree or equivalent experience.
  • Two years of art-related work experience.
  • One year supervisory experience.
  • Valid Florida driver's license.
  • Successful Level II background screening.
  • Successful drug test.
  • Ability to instruct in at least three art-related skills.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the safety, well-being, health, comfort, development and self-esteem of Pyramid students.
  • Teach art classes, focusing primarily on marketable fine arts.
  • Identify needs and desires for each individual and pursue programs that provides them choice, independence, life-skills, vocational opportunity, and natural supports, and the opportunity for them to lead meaningful lives
  • Lead the development of the visual arts program and use the arts to create holistic enrichment in the lives of Pyramid students.
  • Support fundraising ventures and create community partnerships & support with the support of the director.
  • Create opportunities for artists and performers to display their work in the community.
  • Be available for off-hours work-related activities.

Pyramid is a private, non-profit Adult Day Training Center that builds its program around the performing and visual arts. Its arts program is unique in the nation and has attracted attention throughout Florida and beyond.

The salary for this position is $31,000, or higher based on experience. Full benefits include group health insurance.
