Juror – Susannah Darrow
About the Juror – Susannah Darrow is the Founder and Principal of Susannah Darrow Consulting.
Susannah works to build greater awareness of the arts as a means to develop a more culturally engaged
and forward thinking Atlanta. Susannah currently serves as the District 2 Arts and Culture Advisor to
Atlanta City Councilmember Amir Farokhi. Susannah served as the Co-Chair of the LEAD Atlanta Class
of 2019. She was a member of LEAD Atlanta in 2016, and participated in the Atlanta Regional
Commission’s Regional Leadership Institute (2106) and the Arts Leaders of Metro Atlanta. In 2014,
Georgia Trend Magazine named her as one of 40 top leaders under age 40. In 2013, the Georgia Center
for Nonprofits named her in their list of top 30 nonprofit leaders under age 30. Susannah served as the
Executive Director of ArtsATL, a nonprofit online publication based in Atlanta, GA that covers the city's
arts and culture communities. She is also the founding Executive Director of BURNAWAY, a nonprofit arts
organization dedicated to providing critical coverage and dialogue about arts in the Southeast.

About Abernathy Arts Center – Abernathy Arts Center is Fulton County’s oldest neighborhood Arts
Center dedicated to providing quality arts instruction to the community in a warm and friendly environment
since 1974. Under the guidance of the Fulton County Department of Arts & Culture, Abernathy Arts
Center offers a broad range of day and evening classes for adults and children. The gallery features
monthly exhibits which provide exhibition opportunities for students and faculty.
Located at the corner of Abernathy and Johnson Ferry Road, NW in Sandy Springs, Abernathy’s campus
includes a renovated farmhouse and the Annex with gallery and classroom space.

About DFAA – Dunwoody Fine Art Association, Inc. (DFAA) is one of the oldest artists groups in the
Atlanta area. It was formed in 1971 by a group of Dunwoody artists. It was granted not-for-profit status in
1987. DFAA exists for educational, civic and charitable purposes connected with fine art. It provides for
the artistic advancement of members, the stimulation of interest in fine art in the community and supports
art education in Dunwoody. DFAA has rotating exhibits at various locations throughout the Dunwoody
area, conducts the annual Dunwoody Fine Art Month, holds meetings and workshops in the North DeKalb
Cultural Center and conducts exhibits and activities throughout the community.
All entries for this exhibit must be submitted electronically using dfaa2020.artcall.org 

Entry Fee – A flat fee of $30 for DFAA Members and $40 for non-members for submitting up to 3 pieces

Important Dates
November 1, 2019 – Registration opens

November 22, 2019 – Registration closes
December 9, 2019 – Notification sent to artists
January 14 & 15, 2020 – Accepted work, hand delivered by artist, to the Abernathy Arts Center between
9:30 AM and 8 PM. Shipped art pieces must be received at the Abernathy Arts Center by January 15
January 25, 2020 – Reception and Awards Ceremony at Abernathy Arts Center from 11 AM to 2 PM.
January 17 - February 28, 2020 – Exhibition open to the public
February 1, 2020 – Gallery Talk with the juror at Abernathy Arts Center at 11 AM.
February 28, 2020 – Show concludes
February 29; March 3 & 4, 2020 – Hand delivered work to be picked up at Abernathy Arts Center.
Pick up February 29, 9:30 AM to 1:30PM, March 3 & 4, 9:30 AM - 8 PM
March 4, 2020 – Shipped work returned to shipping company

Entry Submission – Each artist is required to register at dfaa2020.artcall.org, make payment of entry fee
and provide jpg images of art pieces being entered into the exhibit by November 22, 2019. Any portion of
the entry package reflecting a later date will disqualify the entry.
