Orchestra Registration

Registration for the Tallahassee Youth Orchestras is now Open! The TYO offers four orchestral ensembles  for music students of all levels and ages. These ensembles rehearse weekly on Sunday afternoons and perform four traditional concerts a year as well as additional performances within the community. In addition to ensemble training, students receive specialized coaching for their instrument or instrument family.

Orchestra Fundamentals is an introductory ensemble for beginning violinists and cellists. Through games and fun activities, students begin training their ears and learning the fundamentals of music and instrument technique.

Intermezzo Strings is designed for intermediate string students of all ages. Instruction is focused on improving instrument technique, ensemble playing, and exploring different musical styles and periods.

Chamber Orchestra consists of intermediate to advanced string students in fifth grade or higher who continue to develop their technique and musical knowledge while learning intermediate and advanced repertoire. Students must audition to join this ensemble.

Symphony Orchestra is a full orchestral ensemble consisting of string, woodwind, brass, and percussion students who study and perform advanced orchestral literature. Students must audition to join this ensemble.
