Open Rehearsal for Students: TSO Ode to Understanding

Thanks to generous sponsorship by the Florida Education Association, the TSO is able to offer students the opportunity to attend the dress rehearsal for "Ode to Understanding" at no charge. "Ode to Understanding" features a powerful new work that sets the words of seven black men who were killed by authority figures to music, evoking complex emotions. The dress rehearsal runs from 9:30-12:00 on Saturday March 30 in Ruby Diamond Concert Hall. Students are welcome to attend the entire dress rehearsal or come just for the rehearsal of "Seven Last Words of the Unarmed", which will be rehearsed beginning at 11:00. Students are asked to arrive a minimum of 15 minutes before rehearsal begins (9:15 for the entire rehearsal, 10:45 for "Seven Last Words"). Following the rehearsal, attendees are welcome to join the composer and President of the Florida Education Association for a pizza party and conversation.
