USArtists International (USAI) is a grant program of Mid Atlantic Arts Foundation in cooperation with the National Endowment for the Arts that supports performances by U.S. dance, music, and theater ensembles and solo artists invited to perform at important cultural festivals and performing arts marketplaces anywhere in the world outside the United States and its territories.
USAI provides critical funding to support artists’ performances at international engagements that will have a significant impact on their professional development. The program is committed to the presence of U.S. artists on world stages. Find out if you are eligible by reading the guidelines.
New Virtual Track!
While USArtists International will continue to accept applications for travel engagements, a new virtual track has opened to accommodate artists whose eligible international engagements are offering an option to present their work digitally. Eligible virtual performances can be live-streamed, pre-recorded, or a combination of both. Please review the guidelines for more information on how to apply for virtual-engagement support.
The October 1, 2020 deadline is for applicants seeking funding for performances scheduled between January 5, 2021 and June 30, 2022. This extended project window allows for greater flexibility in the event that travel dates need to be rescheduled, as well as planning farther in advance. Artists/ensembles can apply for up to three engagements on a single application, including a mix of virtual or travel engagements. Please review the guidelines for more details.
The March 31, 2021 deadline is for applicants seeking funding for performances scheduled between July 1, 2021 and June 30, 2022.
