The COVID-19 pandemic continues to turn our lives upside-down. Safety precautions put in place have changed how we interact with each other in ways we never dreamed. For many, this has provided an opportunity to explore and develop their artistic skills in new directions. If you have created art during this time period that focuses either on the impact of this pandemic or on the lighter and brighter things in life or other art that you deem uplifting, humorous or inspirational we would like to see your work. While we do not taken this pandemic lightly, we know that it has impacted artists and their work. The Joe Center for the Arts invites artists of all media and levels to submit their art work for consideration to 'Lighten UP--Getting Past the COVID Blues.'

Although we hope to be able to host this exhibit in the building, concerns over public safety due to the COVID-19 pandemic may necessitate hosting this show in an online virtual format on our website. A limited selection of artwork will be displayed in the windows at The Joe Center for the Arts, 201 Reid Ave., Port St. Joe, FL.

The Joe Center for the Arts is a self-sustaining community-based non-profit art center. Our mission is to educate, exhibit, partner and inspire through the arts.

This will be a non-juried show, except for building space limitations.

People's Choice Awards shall be announced on Friday, Oct. 2, 2020 during the opening reception if it is feasible to open the building to the public. A virtual show does not allow us to conduct a voting process.

Entry fee $35 for Members, $50 for Non-Members, up to 4 pieces may be entered.

Entry deadline is Sept. 1, 2020. Show runs from Oct. 2-31, 2020.
