INIE Nonprofit Revenue Research Intern

The Institute for Nonprofit Innovation and Excellence is a 501c3 organization that seeks to increase the impact and capacity of local nonprofit organizations through education, collaboration, and advocacy.

Position Overview: INIE’s Nonprofit Management Volunteer Internship Program provides participants with an unparalleled opportunity to acquire administrative experience while gaining valuable insight into the nonprofit sector. Interns will contribute to their own success by selecting a focal area for their internship at the outset (e.g. Research, Fund Development) and will then work with their Supervisor to develop projects upon which much of their time will be focused. Additionally, all interns will participate in INIE staff meetings and will be engaged in the day-to-day operations of the agency, allowing for enormous personal and professional growth.

Position Duties: A Revenue Research intern would be responsible for locating funding opportunities for INIE members and track the data relating to the research they’ve done. Interns utilize national databases of funding opportunities to provide members with grant leads that align with the member's mission and focus. They are also challenged to locate and provide additional funding resources for Nonprofits such as passive income, diverse revenue streams, document templates, and more.

Position Requirements:

• Currently enrolled at college or university
• Must be in good academic standing
• Excellent writing skills
• Strong command of various research techniques encouraged
