Graphic Designer - Full Time

Compass Marketing & Consulting, a Tallahassee, FL based full-service creative agency dedicated to the advancement of our client’s business through imaginative ideas, innovative products and sound marketing strategy is seeking an experienced Graphic Designer.

The Compass Marketing Graphic Designer will report directly to the Creative Director and be responsible for the following:

• Collaboration with designated web developers and content developers within the Agency to produce, maintain and update content and design for Agency produced and maintained websites.

• Production of cutting edge online or traditional creative advertisements (banner ads, buttons, print, outdoor, etc.) for assigned advertising projects based on provided creative briefs. (This job function requires some familiarity with rich media and online bandwidth considerations).

• Creation of “client-ready” storyboards.

• Successful handling multiple projects, and possession of strong interpersonal skills.

• Well-developed design sensibility and an eye for detail, and be skilled at verbal and written communications with the ability to write copy.

• The Graphic Designer must be a self-starter and have the ability to think outside of the box.

The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelors or equivalent degree in communications design or a related field and 3-5 years of experience in an Advertising Agency or Design Studio.  The Graphic Designer should have extensive knowledge of and experience in typographic identity, web, information and interactive design.  The Graphic Designer must have experience with programs such as Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.

Familiarity with web technologies such as HTML, Javascript, ASP, Macromedia, SQL Server, CGI, Windows NT, and XML development is desirable, but not essential.

This person should also have experience with and/or knowledge of web server hardware, site architecture, user interface requirements, web navigation, web page layout, cross platform issues, browser and platform compatibility and capability, animation, image compression, size and speed issues.  Knowledge of firewalls, and other network/server security issues, as well as web-based electronic software are required.

This position requires submission of a portfolio of work.

Compass Marketing & Consulting will offer the chosen candidate a full-time position (40hrs/week) with a competitive pay plan including full benefits.
