Girls on the Run Wonder Woman Awards 2021
The Girls on the Run Panhandle (GOTRP) Wonder Woman Awards is a signature event of GOTRP. The goal for this event is to elevate the contributions of women and girls in our community while raising critical funds to support scholarships and programming to build joyful, healthy, confident girls. Honorees will be celebrated at an Awards Night on October 28th.
Since this event is focused on elevating women and girls, GOTRP is interested in partnering with 10 local female artists to design/donate one-of-a-kind awards for our winners. Our goal is to not only celebrate our winners but to also shine the spotlight on the rich talent and artistic energy of our local female artists. We will provide a small plaque or nameplate that will be affixed to each award. General parameters of the award:
- Art Medium: Open to various art forms from photography, sculpture, painting, ceramics, etc.
- Size: Be able to hold easily with two hands. (Award will be presented on-stage.)
- Content: Wonder Woman inspired. Incorporating one or more of the Wonder Woman values of strength, leadership, compassion, service, and hope. Girl awards should be age-appropriate (Age: 10-17)
- Name Plate: Have a surface where a nameplate can be affixed.
Interested artists can submit their design ideas along with their reason for participating to Wonder Woman Chair Ericka McKibbin at ericka.mckibbin72@gmail.com no later than July 15th. All artists will receive recognition via social media and at the Awards Night on October 28th. If available, artists will have the opportunity to present the final winner with their award. Based on each artist's time and art, they will be recognized as an event sponsor based on the value of their piece.
