There will be a general interest meeting held at the Council on Culture and Arts (816 S Martin Luther King Jr Blvd, Tallahassee, FL 32301) on April 23, 2016 from 2:00pm-4:00pm.
Bring your flutes, music stands, and any music you would like to perform or sight read with the group! We will be discussing the current plans for the Tallahassee Flute Club and taking any suggestions for our organization.
Join us for some Flutastic Fun and learn more about who we are and the different ways that you can get involved with the Tallahassee Flute Club!
This will be a wonderful time for anyone who is interested in being a member to pay their suggested dues of $10 for the year. If you have any questions please contact tallahassee.flute.club@gmail.com.
We hope to see you there!

Hi. I haven't played a flute for 45 years. I recently bought a used flute, but it needs pads. I can't play the keys until I replaced the pads. I got a quote for $200 to replace pads. Do you know any place that is more reasonably priced?

View less"I think my pads are around $12 each, so if you replace all of them and add the cost of labor, that seems right. The only place I know of in town is Music Masters. There is also Great Southern Music in Gainesville.
If it's a professional model, I'd consider sending it off to Joy Sears in South Carolina, Adam Pettry in Georgia, or Carolyn Nussbaum in Texas. I send mine to Miyazawa in Iowa. Check in

Check in with these places, but I'm thinking between the cost of driving the flute somewhere or paying for shipping, it's still going to be around $200. But I'd check in with the Florida shops or Joy Sears first."

View lessHi, I am returning to the flute after a number of years and have played with the Capital City Band (TCC) for a year. I am interested in attending the meeting, but don't have a music stand to bring. Is this event open to players like myself? Will there be any extra music stands available? Thanks, Mary
