Funds for Emerging and Mid-career Artists Available

Foundwork is currently accepting applications for the Foundwork Artist Prize. The deadline to register is September 26, 2023 at 5:00 p.m. PT (8:00 p.m. ET).

The Foundwork Artist prize is a juried award available for emerging and mid-career artists of any medium. The honoree will receive $10,000 and studio visits with the jurors. The honoree and three short-listed artists will be invited to participate in Foundwork’s Dialogues program.

To apply, an artist must:

1. Be an individual who is at least 18 years old and otherwise able to enter into a binding contract;
2. Not be a Foundwork employee, contractor or their relative.

To apply, an organization must:

1. Be a member of Foundwork.
2. Have a published artist profile on Foundwork.
3. The artist profile must have at least 6 artworks and an artist statement published.
4. The profile should be active (including the artworks and artist statement) continuously throughout the selection period: September 26 – December 31.

There is no application fee. However, membership to Foundwork costs $4/month with a 30-day free trial. Therefore, applying for this prize will cost between $12-16 dollars. Applicants are not obligated to continue their membership outside of this period. Free trial or paid status will not impact selections.
