Grants are available for USA nonprofit arts organizations for operating support. Funding is intended to support and expand the performing arts, with a particular focus on theater and dance. Arts organizations that help support the development of theater and graduate drama departments of private universities are also eligible to apply.
The application deadline is 12/05/2023 for all theater applicants.
The Foundation’s Board of Directors believes that the most effective way to encourage the artistic process is by providing the general operating support that reinforces the structure that nurtures its development. Accordingly; all allocations are unrestricted. Although the Foundation’s primary emphasis is on theater, with a secondary focus on dance, the Shubert Foundation also offers some awards to arts-related organizations and MFA programs that help support their growth and advancement. For more information, criteria, and guidelines for the Shubert Foundation’s programs, see the links below:
Shubert Foundation grants are awarded exclusively to US organizations, which must have current 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status and must submit current audited financial statements in order to be eligible for funding.
The Foundation provides grants only to organizations that have an established artistic and administrative track record, as well as a history of fiscal responsibility.
