Five by Five 2016 Exhibition

You can be part of the Arts Council’s 5th annual FIVE by FIVE exhibition and show your work at the Tampa Museum of Art. It's Small Art for a BIG Cause on Friday, Oct. 21. SUBMIT your 5”x5" artwork SEPT. 26 - SEPT. 30. No fees. 2D, 3D, all mediums. Proceeds from donated artwork fund individual artist grants and workshops from the Arts Council of Hillsborough County.

Small Art for a BIG Cause

The FIVE by FIVE exhibition features original 5 inch x 5 inch art made and donated by professional and emerging artists. It’s Small Art for a BIG Cause! All artwork is exhibited anonymously and sold for $25 each. Artists must sign their work only on the back so that signatures are not seen when displayed. A roster of participating artists and a preview of works available for sale during the event will be posted on FivebyFiveTampaBay.com before the event.

ELIGIBILITY
The exhibition is open to any visual artist 18 years and older worldwide.
All submissions must be original in content, concept, and design and not submitted to FIVE by FIVE previously.
2D or 3D work in any medium, abstract or representational, is accepted.
Artwork must be suitable for all audiences.
ARTWORK SPECIFICATIONS
Each 2D work must be 5 inches x 5 inches and 3D work must be 5 inches x 5 inches with no more than 5 inches in the third dimension. Work smaller or larger than 5 inches x 5 inches will not be accepted (Kiln work +/- .25”.)
DO NOT SIGN THE FRONT of your artwork. Sign your work ONLY on the back of the piece. Work signed on the front will not be accepted as all artwork is displayed anonymously.
Do not frame, matte, or include hanging hardware.
Indicate top of your piece with an arrow (see diagram).
Works on paper MUST be supported by a 5 inch x 5 inch rigid support such as mounting board or foam core.
The exhibit will adhere to collection standards; no work will be accepted that incorporates:electricity (except battery),
water (unless self contained), or
hazardous materials.
ENTRY, DELIVERY, UNSOLD ARTWORK
Limit of two submissions per artist, no fees. Works will be lightly juried if total exhibition limit is exceeded.
Each piece of art must be accompanied by a copy of the electronic entry form. Fill out your entry form online at FivebyFiveTampaBay.com/entry-form. The online system will email a copy of your completed form, usually within one hour.
If work needs to be protected during handling, please provide proper packaging for the work.
Deliver work to the Arts Council of Hillsborough County, 505 E. Jackson St., Suite 306, Tampa, FL 33602.Work delivered in person will be accepted Monday, Sept. 26 thru Friday, Sept. 30, 2016, 9 am to 4 pm only.
Mailed work can be sent anytime but must be received in the Arts Council’s office by 4 pm, Fri., Sept. 30. THIS IS NOT A POSTMARK DATE.
All artwork is donated to the Arts Council of Hillsborough County. Unsold work is not returned to the artist except by prior arrangement. Call the Arts Council to arrange. Artists must pay any return shipping costs.

Event Location: Tampa Museum of Art, Tampa, FL

Attendance: FIVE by FIVE is an Arts Council of Hillsborough County event held at the Tampa Museum of Art that celebrates art, music, and entertainment. Attendance has steadily grown for FIVE by FIVE with nearly 900 attending in 2015. Nearly 600 pieces of art and performances from artists in theatre, dance, music, spoken word and film were featured last year.

Exhibition: The FIVE by FIVE art exhibition was created by the Arts Council of Hillsborough County’s Artists Advisory Committee as a way to raise funds for artist grants and programs offered by the Arts Council.

Admission: Participating artists attend for FREE; members of the Museum attend for FREE; guests attend for $10.
