Craft Research Fund: Project Grant

   

The Center for Craft is seeking researchers and scholars for projects that advance scholarly craft research. Funding is intended for expenses related to research. Previously funded projects include research on Hopi jewelry, textile-making and autism, the history of glass practices, the connection between abolition and quilting, and more. Grants are awarded up to $15,000.

The application deadline is October 5th, 2023.

The goals of the Center for Craft include, but are not limited to:

  • Encourage – To encourage innovative research on critical issues in craft theory and history
  • Expand – To investigate neglected questions on craft history and criticism
  • Support – To support new cross-disciplinary approaches to scholarship in craft

Grant eligibility includes:

  • Proposals are welcome from academic researchers and independent scholars.
  • Applicants must be able to receive taxable income in the U.S. or U.S. territories for the duration of the grant and report this grant as income
  • Applicants must be 18 years of age or older
