City of Tallahassee Race Relations Summit

Event: October 29, 2020, 8am-8pm

How do people in our community relate to one another? What factors play into how individuals, neighborhoods, groups and entire races perceive each other, and how do these factors affect how the community finds solutions to the issues of the day? These questions are at the root of the City of Tallahassee’s Race Relations Summit, which will be held virtually on Thursday, Oct. 29. It will feature local community leaders and renowned experts on issues including housing, law enforcement, youth engagement and more.

Register now for this free event to experience a day of thought-provoking presentations from more than 15 speakers, as they lead community discussions and interactive workshops in the spirit of collaboration and unity. Workshop topics include addressing ethnic and racial health disparities, building bridges to social justice and economic disparities among the races, to name a few. Workshops will start at 8 a.m. and conclude at 8 p.m. providing numerous opportunities for participation.

The City’s Race Relations Summit offers an important opportunity for the community to engage in dialogue designed to elevate the racial literacy and consciousness of individuals and organizations. Through these meaningful discussions, progress continues toward transforming systems and eliminating predictable racial disparities that hinder growth and success for all.
