Auditions for Spring Awakening

Theatre TCC is holding auditions for the musical “Spring Awakening" on January 14 & 15 at 7:00 p.m. Please prepare a 30-60 second monologue and 16-20 bars of music. A cappella singing will not be allowed. Please bring clearly marked sheet music; an accompanist will be provided. A separate dance audition will be held after the monologue/singing auditions conclude (bring clothes and shoes you can move in). Headshots and/or resumes are welcomed, but not required.

ABOUT THE SHOW:
The turbulent emotions and burgeoning sexuality of adolescence are harnessed in "Spring Awakening," winner of eight Tony Awards, four Drama Desk Awards and a Grammy for original cast album. The musical is a bold and innovative adaptation of Frank Wedekind’s 19th century play, which was originally banned in Germany for its frank depiction of sexuality and controversial issues. It gained a new life on Broadway in 2006 as a folk-infused rock musical, with book and lyrics by Steven Sater and an electrifying score by Duncan Sheik. Haunting and provocative, Spring Awakening celebrates an unforgettable journey from youth to adulthood with a power, a poignancy, and a passion you will never forget.
