DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:

The Program Manager is a professional administrator with subject matter expertise (arts) and able to effectively communicate with constituents. Demonstrates exceptional customer service, accountability, adaptability, dependability, initiative, and exemplary personal conduct and relationships, of all which are core values of the Division and the Department of State.

This is a full-time Program Manager position with assigned specific disciplines and programs, including special projects and contracts. Manages and monitors grants awarded by agency for cultural programs in Florida. Duties include updating applicable administrative rules and guidelines; processing and reviewing applications; selection of panelists and coordination of panel meetings; and management of grant contracts. Administers the Cultural Endowment investment program, Legislative and National Endowment for the Arts grants, and manages a portion of the Cultural Facilities Program.

This manager is a grants team member and attends weekly staff meetings as well as other scheduled meetings. Regularly reports on activities and projects and reviews procedures. Facilitates communication and collaboration among staff, artists, cultural and professional organizations, educational and governmental agencies, and citizens through presentations, site visits, reports, written evaluations, and regional grantee workshops. Participates in all grants training webinars for constituents.

Works closely with DCA strategic plan and executes assigned areas of the plan.

Performs other duties as required.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor's degree in an arts related field required, Master's in Arts Administration preferred.

Two years experience as an educator, artist or professional staff in an arts institution.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Two years of fulltime experience and proficiency with Microsoft Office including Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint.

PREFERRED (NOT REQUIRED) KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Experience with cultural grants, including application review, grant writing, evaluation and panelist procedures.
