DAR is pleased to announce that  $250,000 in funding is available nationally for 2023-2024 Historic Preservation Grants to support local historic preservation. Charitable 501 (C)(3) organizations may apply for grants of up to $10,000 to preserve historic resources and sites, digitized documents, erect historic markers, and help preserve the American story in other ways. Examples include restoration of historic buildings; digitization or preservation of documents/records; preservation of historical items/artifacts; erection of new or rededication/relocation of existing historical markers; cemetery headstone and monument conservation, etc. Applicants are required to match the grant award 1:1. In-kind services and non-cash contributions do not count as a match. Each application must have a sponsorship letter from a DAR regent. To get a sponsorship letter from us, it is important that potential applicants notify the FSLDAR Historic Preservation Grants Committee of their intent to apply at grants.fsldar@gmail.com by October 15.  Completed grants are submitted online until December 31 via https://dar.academicworks.com/opportunities/294 . Within the last six years, four Tallahassee oranizations received grants.
