Announcing DAR Historic Preservation Grants



DAR is pleased to announce that  $250,000 in funding is available nationally for 2023-2024 Historic Preservation Grants to support local historic preservation. Charitable 501 (C)(3) organizations may apply for grants of up to $10,000 to preserve historic resources and sites, digitized documents, erect historic markers, and help preserve the American story in other ways. Examples include restoration of historic buildings; digitization or preservation of documents/records; preservation of historical items/artifacts; erection of new or rededication/relocation of existing historical markers; cemetery headstone and monument conservation, etc. Applicants are required to match the grant award 1:1. In-kind services and non-cash contributions do not count as a match. Each application must have a sponsorship letter from a DAR regent. To get a sponsorship letter from us, it is important that potential applicants notify the FSLDAR Historic Preservation Grants Committee of their intent to apply at by October 15.  Completed grants are submitted online until December 31 via . Within the last six years, four Tallahassee oranizations received grants.
