Sharard X

I am Sharard “X” an alum of  Florida A&M University, self taught artist and illustrator with a passion for painting, education, and community. Following the loss of my brother and my final season of playing football at FAMU I began to fill my free time with sketches and drawing, once the world was trapped inside they started to become paintings and portraits. My aim is for viewers, mainly students and younger adults, to not only see the message within the piece, but also see the process of painting a masterpiece and all the amazing benefits art, more specifically painting has to offer.  My goal for my work is to reach and connect to my viewers, I want them to be able to feel the passion, hear the story, and see the vision I’m putting together on every piece.  I paint to help my students, and my viewers, to learn how to deal with their  stress, idle time, and even anxiety; all while gaining an expressive skill set that can only get better with dedication, focus, and practice.   My style is vibrant and full of life, ever-evolving, and resemblant of me and the individuals who inspire me most. It’s expressive, direct, and always original.
