My name is Keith Osborn and I’ve been a freelance computer animator for 15 years. I’ve worked in film, television, video games and theme park rides, having animated such characters such as Daffy Duck, Wile E. Coyote, the Iron Giant, and the Minions from Despicable Me. I’ve worked on video games such as Halo 2 and the Shadow of Colossus remake and animated on the Oscar Winning short film, The Fantastic Flying Books of Mr. Morris Lessmore. I primarily work from home and go to work in my PJ’s on the days I choose to dress up.

I also have a passion for teaching, having taught for 10 years, half of those at the Ringling College of Art and Design and the other half online at Animation Mentor and AnimSchool. My next teaching ambition is to bring animation instruction to the local level, offering workshops to high-schools students in the Tallahassee area.

Along the lines of teaching, I had the opportunity to publish a book, Cartoon Character Animation with Maya, to help students of animation learn some of the tricks of the trade.

When I’m not animating, hanging out with the family or picking away at the banjo, I’m often found playing video games and watching cartoons.

  1. Do you ever offer private instruction? My daughter is looking into animation programs after high school. We are looking for somebody in the field to give her a moment of guidance and art development.
    Thank you!

    • Hi Carmen,

Thanks for contacting me. I'd be happy to talk with you and your daughter about animation instruction and what might be some good programs for you to look in to.

As for private instruction, that's something I'm working towards, developing curriculum with the goal of launching next year. I can certainly keep you posted if that's something you'd be interested in.

      Let me know,

      Keith
