I started working with hard-shelled gourds over 15 years ago.  The gourd is an intriguing medium with a long history worldwide.  It has been used for bowls, canteens, ceremonial objects, art, paper-making and more.  I integrate chip carving, pyro-engraving, dyes, acrylics, string art, and various embellishments in my gourd creations.  My inspirations come mainly from nature; I am particularly interested in honeybees, equines, and Native American themes.
