Hidden in the heart of Tallahassee is a flourishing landscape off of High Road. A wooded path transports visitors from the bustle of Tallahassee to a quiet natural oasis. This property is called Lichgate, and it houses a majestic live oak tree as well as an English Tudor-style cottage built in the 1900s. In addition to the live oak tree and the cottage, Lichgate is home to multiple community-run gardens, an outdoor classroom, and a labyrinth.

The natural beauty of Lichgate is open to visitors from dawn until dusk every day. Guests are encouraged to fully explore the property and experience all it has to offer. During weekends visitors have the opportunity to view the cottage, historic home to the late Laura Jepsen, and get a sense of how life once was in Tallahassee Florida. Be sure to check the events calendar beforehand to make sure there are not any events scheduled in the cottage.

Wonderful volunteers maintain the green oasis that is Lichgate, without any public funding! Please be respectful of the land by throwing all trash away at the bins by the parking lot and honor the tree by not climbing on it’s limbs.
