The presenters will provide the attendees with several strategies for working with photographs, and identifying and dating family photographs.
Sandra Varry, MFA, MLIS, CA, DAS, taught traditional and digital photography for over a decade before becoming a full time archivist, specializing in historic photograph collections. She will present two Photographic Preservation sessions: Strategies for working with Physical Collections and Strategies for working with Digital Collections.
Maureen Taylor, The Photo Detective, is an internationally recognized expert on historic photograph identification, photo preservation and family history research. Sought out by clients all over the world from as far away as New Zealand, her pioneering work in historic photo research is unprecedented, evidenced by her success in solving photo mysteries. She is the author of several books, scholarly articles and online columns. Ms. Taylor will present on Identifying and Dating Family Photographs.
Attendees will receive topic-specific handout materials, a continental breakfast, and bottled water throughout the day. Those registering for the seminar no later than January 20th have the option of purchasing a bag lunch. Seminar registration (only) is: Society Member $30 seminar; Non-member $35.
