“Ascension: The 20th Century Rise of the African American Middle Class” Presented by Nashid Madyun from FAMU’s Meek Eaton Black Archives

Join Dr. Nashid Madyun for a presentation on change and opportunity in the opening decades of the 20th century. Through education, commerce, and military service, new avenues of socio-economic ascension were opened to African Americans.

This lecture is a prelude to our upcoming exhibit in partnership with the Meek-Eaton Black Archives at Florida A&M University. Don’t miss Ascension: The Early 20th Century Rise of the African American Middle Class, opening in November 2017.

Dr. Madyun serves as Director of the Meek-Eaton Black Archives.
