Presented by Thomas County Federal, Featuring the North Mississippi Allstars
Afternoon in the Field, presented in partnership with Thomas County Federal, kicks off a week-long celebration of art and the sporting life with Plantation Wildlife Arts Festival, and the PWAF committee is excited to welcome North Mississippi Allstars as the 2017 concert headliner!
Founded in 1996 by brothers Luther (guitar and vocals) and Cody Dickinson (drums, piano, synth bass, programming and vocals), the now venerable band are entering their second decade with what is unquestionably the most vital album of their brilliant career — Prayer for Peace. Simultaneously master curators, expert revivalists and forward-thinking visionaries, the Dickinson brothers have crafted their most daringly creative and provocatively topical collection to date, marking North Mississippi Allstars’ own unique place in the American musical tradition.
Tallahassee-native Katie Skene will open for North Mississippi Allstars (Skene at 5:00 pm, Allstars at 6:00 pm), and Two Foot Level will provide afternoon entertainment from 2:00-5:00 pm.
In addition to the concert, this year’s exhibitions will sprawl across Pebble Hill Plantation‘s beautiful grounds, giving kids (and adults) lots of room to play. Watch the wildlife demonstration and grab a bite to eat at the Red Hills Market. Then close the evening with music and dancing!
