Burt Altman, retired archivist and local historian, will be giving a fun and informative historic tour of Cascades Park on Saturday, August 19 from 10-noon with Tallahassee Segway Tours.
You'll see and hear the history of the old Leon County Jail, the Waterworks, the old Leon County Health Dept. building, the Smokey Hollow community, and the city's former electric plant, now the Edison Restaurant. We will provide initial training on the segway. We meet at the Tallahassee Segways shop, on the corner of South Monroe and Jennings Street. Street parking is available in front of of the shop on S. Monroe Street and along Jennings Street (the cross street).
