A tea showcasing “The Secret Garden” classic book by Frances Hodgson Burnett. Escape to the Secret Garden at the museum for a morning of traditional tea, scones, muffins, books, movie and more surprises.
The Apalachicola Arsenal Museum and Conference Center will present their second morning themed tea on Saturday, July 22th at 10 a.m. in Chattahoochee. Guests will enjoy the beauty of plants, the beauty of entertainment and the beauty of taking time for friendships and family. While enjoying tea guests will get to remember a book they read when younger or will be exposed to a literary masterpiece they have yet to read. “The Secret Garden” movie produced in 1993 will be shown on the screen for the first time in this area. According to Roger Ebert “Some “children’s films” are only for children. Some can be watched by the whole family. Others are so good they seem hardly intended for children at all and “The Secret Garden” falls in that category. It is a work of beauty, poetry and deep mystery and watching it is like entering for a time into a closed world where one’s destiny may be discovered.” As usual Museum events come with a wealth of surprises and this continues at the tea. Tickets are limited. Adults - $10; Children – free when accompanied an adult; Friends Table (4 seats) for $35.
“There is no trouble so great or grave that cannot be much diminished by a nice cup of tea”
…Bernard Paul Heroux
