Yum Exhibition Reception

Yum Exhibition Reception

Presented by Council on Culture & Arts (COCA) at City Hall Galleries

The Yum exhibition, presented by COCA, celebrates and explores the role that food plays in our lives. This multi-media show is a banquet of 55 artworks, highlighting culinary themes including images of edibles, food preparation, farming practices, cooking and dining scenes, and table settings. A feast for the eyes, the Yum exhibition will provide food for thought and nourishment for the creative soul.

COCA is working with America's Second Harvest of the Big Bend for this exhibit reception and we ask that each reception attendee please bring a non-perishable food item to donate or make a donation during the reception, if you feel so moved. Second Harvest has considerable buying power and your dollar goes a very long way towards feeding our community. One in six people face hunger in America - including more than 107,000 here in the Big Bend region. Take action to fight hunger in your community! Visit www.FightingHunger.org for more information.

COCA thanks the local businesses who donated awards for the Yum winners: Black Fig, The Edison, Kool Beanz Cafe, Lucky's Market, and Nefetari's Fine Cuisine & Spirits.

The City Hall Art Gallery is located on the second floor of City Hall, 300 South Adams Street and is free and open Monday through Friday from 8:00 am – 5:00 pm

Even if you can't make it to the reception, feel free to visit the show while it's on display at the City Hall Art Gallery from May 17 – July 17, 2017. It's free and open to the public Monday through Friday from 8:00 am – 5:00 pm.

It is one of many exhibitions curated by the Council on Culture & Arts for the Art in Public Places program on behalf of the City of Tallahassee. For more information about this program, click here.
