Joyfully embracing the medium of short film, Tally Shorts Film Festival is excited to bring a unique, independent cinema experience to this region.
The two-day Tally Shorts Film Festival features excellent films from near and far and talented local filmmakers in numerous genres: children's films, documentaries, films about love, comedies, science fiction, drama, horror films and thrillers.*
The films will be shown in the Challenger Learning Center Downtown Digital Dome Theater and Planetarium, a high-definition theater with a 20,600-watt Dolby 5.1 surround sound system and state-of-the-art projectors. The center is downtown at Kleman Plaza.
The film festival schedule includes opening night festivities on Friday, Jan. 20, 7-8:30 p.m., featuring a sampling of the selected films from each genre, followed by a kick-off party at 9 p.m.
On Saturday, Jan. 21, the dual line-up of films opens with a "Filmmaker Meet & Greet" at 11:45 a.m. The selected short films will be screened from 1:30 p.m. until 8:15 p.m. Viewers may choose from either of the two series that will be shown simultaneously.
Designed for children 12 and younger (but enjoyed by all ages), Tally Shorts for Kids will provide a free screening of children’s short films and fun activities in conjunction with Challenger Learning Center’s Kids’ Free Day on Saturday, Jan 21 from 11:45am-1:15pm.
Winners of the festival will be announced at awards ceremonies Saturday starting at 8:30 p.m. and culminating in a Wrap Party.
This festival presents hours of excellent, specially selected short films, opportunities to meet and mingle with filmmakers, activities for kids, and parties celebrating the joy of film.

PUBLIC PARKING
The Kleman Parking Garage is the closest public parking garage to the Challenger Learning Center (CLC). It is adjacent to the CLC on Kleman Plaza. Entrances to the Kleman Parking Garage are located on South Duval and South Bronough Streets. The rates are follows:
Additional parking is available at metered street spots and other public lots located throughout downtown Tallahassee.
Buses: Buses should pull into the bus ramp on College Ave. Enter the bus ramp by traveling South on Bronough St. and turning left onto College Ave. The bus ramp will be on the immediate right. The bus ramp is for drop off and pick up only. Parking is available at the Leon County Civic Center (free for Leon County Schools; $35 for all other buses), the Governor’s Square Mall, or in the free parking lot at the corner of Gaines Street and Duval Street.
